DESCRIPTION:The Kepos Project – Archaeology and Landscape Meetings returns\
 , the annual series of conferences promoted by the William Walton Foundati
 on and Giardini La Mortella. Through an interdisciplinary approach\, the p
 roject offers an opportunity to reflect on Italy’s and the international c
 ommunity’s extraordinary cultural heritage. Curated by Dr Mariangela Catuo
 gno\, this year’s series is dedicated to the centenary of Lady Walton’s bi
 rth and to her extraordinary work as the creator of the Giardini La Mortel
 la.\nThe next event will be held on Thursday 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Villa 
 Arbusto Museum Complex and will focus on the theme “Pithekoussai and Cumae
 : Stories and Interconnections at the Dawn of Magna Graecia.”\nValentino N
 izzo\, Professor of Etruscology at the University of Naples “L’Orientale\,
 ” will speak with a presentation entitled “Before the Dawn of Magna Graeci
 a: Archaeology and the Stories of Archaeologists from Pre-Hellenic Cumae t
 o Pithekoussai.” This will be followed by Matteo D’Acunto\, Full Professor
  of Classical Archaeology at the University of Naples “L’Orientale\,” with
  a presentation entitled “Stories from the Earth: Cumae from the Pre-Helle
 nic Phase to the Early Stages of Colonization.” The presentations will con
 clude with Dr Teresa E. Cinquantaquattro\, Ministry of Culture\, Head of S
 ervice II – Archaeological Excavations and Protection of Archaeological He
 ritage\, who will give a presentation entitled “Pithekoussai: Intercultura
 l Dynamics between the Greek Colonial World and Indigenous Communities.”\n
 The meeting will open with greetings from Alessandra Vinciguerra\, Preside
 nt of the William Walton Foundation and Giardini La Mortella. The presenta
 tions will be moderated by Dr Mariangela Catuogno\, Scientific Director of
